FAQ

Why ChiroCare Plus?

It’s all in the name.

At ChiroCare Plus, our focus is on patient-centred, multimodal care, choosing techniques based on what your body needs, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

We commonly refer to the Triad of Health, which recognises that your wellbeing is influenced by three interconnected areas:

  • Structural – movement, posture, joints, and spinal health
  • Biochemical – nutrition, sleep, recovery, and lifestyle factors
  • Emotional – stress, mental load, and nervous system balance

When one area is under strain, it can affect the others.

That’s why we take all three into account, using a personalised, evidence-informed approach to help restore balance, improve movement, and support long-term health, not just short-term symptom relief.

What do Chiropractors do?

A common misconception is that chiropractic care only involves spinal adjustments. In reality, chiropractic care is much broader and highly individualised.

While spinal adjustments may form part of care, they are often combined with other therapies to support recovery, movement quality, and long-term results.

At ChiroCare Plus, we take a multimodal approach, blending hands-on care, movement-based rehabilitation, supplementation advice and  lifestyle support to help you move and feel your best.

Our team has completed additional postgraduate training in areas including:

  • Applied Kinesiology
  • Dry needling
  • Cupping therapy
  • Rehabilitation and exercise-based care
  • Neuro Emotional Technique (NET)
  • IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation)
  • Paediatric and Pregnancy Care

These added techniques allow us to tailor care to the individual — whether you’re recovering from injury, managing ongoing pain, improving performance, or focusing on long-term spinal health.

Who can receive Chiropractic and are you trained to treat all ages?

Chiropractic care is suitable for people of all ages, from infants and children through to adults and older individuals.

ChiroCare Plus is a family-based practice, and our care is always patient-centred and age-appropriate, with techniques tailored to each individual’s stage of life, and health needs.

Our chiropractors have completed additional postgraduate training in paediatric care, allowing us to provide safe, gentle, and personalised care for the whole family.

Are Chiropractic adjustments safe?

Yes. Chiropractic care has a low risk profile, particularly when compared with more invasive forms of spinal care.

At ChiroCare Plus, we perform thorough assessments and use gentle, precise techniques tailored to each individual. We’ll always discuss your care and any potential risks with you before treatment begins.

As with any healthcare, mild and short-term reactions can occasionally occur, but our approach is always focused on safety and effectiveness.

Will it hurt?

Most people find chiropractic adjustments comfortable and often very relaxing.

Occasionally, mild and short-term discomfort can occur after an adjustment. This is uncommon and, when it does happen, is usually similar to the muscle soreness you might feel after exercise or a remedial massage.

Overall, chiropractic care is not painful and is commonly used to help reduce pain, ease tension, and improve movement.

What are normal post-treatment responses?

Many people leave feeling lighter, looser, and more comfortable, with improved movement and reduced tension.

Sometimes, particularly early in care or after deeper work, you may notice mild soreness, stiffness, or fatigue. This is a normal response as your body adapts and typically settles within 24 - 48 hours.

It’s also common for patients to feel more relaxed, clearer in the head, or sleep better following care.

If anything doesn’t feel right or you have questions after your visit, our team is always happy to help.

How long will I need chiropractic care?

This is entirely up to you.

At ChiroCare Plus, our philosophy is to guide patients from passive care (where we’re more hands-on) to active care (where we work together to help you achieve your goals).

In the early stages, your body may need more guidance and support. As things improve, we focus on helping you understand your body, build resilience, and develop the tools to support yourself long term, while offering clear recommendations to guide your care.

We don’t offer contracts or pressure you into treatment. Instead, we provide guidance, education, and care, and you decide how often and how long you’d like to continue based on your goals.

Some people choose care for:

  • Acute or chronic pain
  • Injury recovery
  • Heavy training or physically demanding periods
  • High-stress phases of life
  • Ongoing maintenance to feel and move their best

Our role is to support you — whether you need short-term help or ongoing care to maintain your best version of you.
