Applied Kinesiology

Applied Kinesiology

Applied Kinesiology (AK) was developed in the 1960s by Dr. George Goodheart. It is a complementary technique that involves using functional manual muscle testing to evaluate and diagnose various health conditions. It combines principles from chiropractic, osteopathy, nutrition, and Chinese medicine to address underlying imbalances.

AK is based on the concept of a "Triad of Health," which consists of three interconnected components: structural, chemical, and emotional aspects. Practitioners believe that dysfunction in any one or all of these areas can affect overall health and well-being.

  • Structural Component: Focuses on the musculoskeletal system, including bones, joints, and muscles.
  • Chemical Component: Involves assessing and addressing nutritional and biochemical factors that may influence health.
  • Mental/Emotional Component: Considers the impact of mental and emotional factors on health and seeks to address any imbalances.
